I am beyond excited to be doing Project Life this year. It's a scrapbooking project without all the extras that come with modern scrapbooking. As Ali Edwards says, "It can be anything you want it to be." Daily, monthly, whatever works for you.
The kids and I tried doing it two years ago and only made it 2.5 months because we had to pack up and move. This year, though? I'm ready. Really ready. And the kids are going to do it with me. I love that both girls now have cameras (iPhone and iPod) that allows them to add photos to the project, too. I want to hear their voices, as well as Tom's and Andrew's, in this project throughout the year.
My goal is to keep it simple. Very simple. I'm planning on printing off many iPhone pics - using the iPrint app and my wireless Epson Artisan 810 printer. But I will also add Instagram pics and, of course, pics from my regular camera.
I am also going to add a lot of digital elements and will add a post later this week showing how I'm planning on doing that. All of my digital elements come from DesignerDigitals and I also plan on adding 100% digital pages to the mix.
A very simple digital project that I've already done is this "our story" brush. You can find here - The Story Word Art + Hand Drawn Brushes by Ali Edwards. I made a 3 x 4 template in Photoshop, added a piece of Cabana White paper to it, then the brush, and printed it out. I saved the file and I can use it again and again whenever I want.
I love, love using words as embellishments and added the word "unconditional" with a stapler. Easy, simple. And done. The best part.
