I've been sneaking into the sewing room every afternoon and am finally almost done with the machine quilting on my Line Art Quilt. (More about this quilt here.) This is the hard part - keeping it rolled correctly and not letting it pucker on the back.
I'm doing organic straight line quilting again. I just love the look of the lines and this quilt just seemed tailor made for straight lines. I'm stitching on either side of each seam down the length of each piece of fabric.
Yesterday, I heard some funny noises coming from my sewing machine and noticed that I had birds' nests on the back of the quilt. I immediately changed the needle and opened up the machine to clean it. I think I found the problem. I've never seen much lint in my lift in a sewing machine. And this is a new machine!
Cleaned it, oiled it and she's working beautifully again. Ripping out 3 rows of the stitching wasn't nearly as easy, though. Hate that!
I'm hoping to finish the machine quilting today and maybe even get the binding done and sewn on in the next day or so!
All photos taken with my cell phone, in case you couldn't tell. LOL!
